What do you all use to mount your wheel? or do you put it on your lap. I know PT built a cockpit (pics again please) but if you have anything different, please show. I've done some research and I've found a couple DIY projects.

There's one on ebay for sale that a guy makes out of PVC pipe. I may take his idea and make my own (havent found plans online yet)

Pics are too big... One guy had a good idea and blue print for a smaller, less claustrophobic one. This idea has been hacked and copied and may be what I end up doing.

Also... much more expensive but a co-worker has the rennsport wheel stand and says it works well.

I saw that thread - some really god ideas.

I saw this at home Depot for $30 which may work.



I also thought a music stand might be a good start too - someone on the thread used a keyboard stand...

I like the idea of using a jump seat and hiding it in an ottoman. That may be project #2. I've got a chair that I used to game in quite a bit that I may be able to mod and accommodate the wheel and pedals. I do like the idea of an angled base for the pedals.

Here's my first model. Its about 95% done. I still need to add 1 more bracket to keep the table from moving during game play. I have a captains chair that I willuse when not on the couch. Took me about 4 hours total broken up into 3 work sessions.

I made mine out of pvc pipe then mounted mdf on the top of it for your wheel. It can be adjusted to fit changes in chair or wheel by replacing pvc with different lengths.
